Linnut ovat jo täällä, missä sinä olet?

Järjestän retken yhteen pääkaupungiseudun lintuparatiiseista
lauantaina 21.5. Vanhankaupunginlahti ja sitä ympäröivät maisemat ovat
nyt täyttymässä muuttavista linnuista ja luonto on vehreimmillään.
Tule siis mukaan kokemaan loppukevään huumaa!

Tapaamme aamulla Viikissä Gardenian edustalla, josta lähdemme
kiertämään Vanhankaupunginlahtea johonkin suuntaan. Katselemme ja
kuuntelemme lintuja matkan varrella omaan tahtiimme. Mitään
aikaisempaa kokemusta ei tarvitse olla, opastan parhaani mukaan
tunnistuksessa. Mukaan saa tietenkin tulla vain kävelemään ja
nauttimaan kaupunkiluonnosta.

Lähtö tapahtuu entisen Gardenian edestä (Koetilantie 1). Ensimmäinen
lähtö todellisille lintujyrille on klo. 6.00, toinen lempeämpi lähtö
on klo. 10.00. Voitte tietysti liittyä mukaan myöhemmin, jolloin
voitte soittaa minulle nr:oon 050-3319886. Kiertelemme niin kauan kuin
jaksamme, eli voitte lähteä oman aikataulun mukaan.

Ota mukaan:
- Tarpeeksi lämmintä vaatetta, pelloilla voi tuulla kovaa. Teillä voi
olla vettä ja mutaa, joten hyvät kengät ovat paikallaan.
- Omat kiikarit ja lintukirja. Voit ilmoittaa minulle, jos haluaisit
lainata niitä, niin yritän järjestää jotain.
- Omat eväät ja juomaa. Kauppoja tai kuppiloita ei ole kovinkaan
lähellä, joten evästämme jossain sopivassa paikassa.

Kyselyt lainavarusteista voi osoittaa minulle osoitteeseen
niko.bjorkell [ät] helsinki.fi. Lintukirjoja kannattaa etsiä
kirjastoista, kikareita saa lainaan myös esim. Wempaimistosta tai
paikallisilta lintuyhdistyksiltä.

The birds are here, where are you?

Hyde organizes a birdwatching trip on May 22nd to the bay of
Vanhankaupunginlahti. The place is almost in the middle of Helsinki,
being surrounded by Herttoniemi, Viikki, Arabianranta and Kulosaari.
Along with Laajalahti in Espoo, the Vanhankaupunginlahti belongs to
the 96 internationally important places for birds in Finland and it's
a home to some 110 species of birds.

We start early in the morning from Gardenia and walk along the bay in
some direction. No earlier experience of birdwatching is needed, I
will try to help you as best as I can with the identifications. You
can of course also just participate in the walk and ignore the birds :)

The starts are on Saturday 21.5. at the frontside of Gardenia
(Koetilantie 1). The first start is at 6.00 am, the second at 10.00
am. You can come later too, in which case you can call me in the
number 050-3319886 and ask where we are. We'll walk around as long as
we like, so you can leave when you feel like it.

Take with you:
- Enough warm clothes, the wind can be cold on the fields. There might
also be water and mud on the roads, so good shoes are a must.
- Binoculars and a birdbook if you have. If you would like to borrow
these, then contact me, and I will see if I can fix something.
- Your own food/snacks and drink. There are no shops or coffeehouses
nearby, so we'll probably have a simple picnic at some point.
